This offseason was reallllll slow in baseball, but one of the items that made news (in a very bad way) was Red Sox starting pitcher Stephen Wright being arrested and charged with domestic assault and preventing a 911 call in early December.
Wright spoke in front of the media for the first time on Wednesday as a member of the Red Sox. While the pitcher says he never touched his wife and that they are currently going to counseling, this is a very bad look.
Honestly, Wright said all the things you’d hope someone to say. But in my opinion, he shouldn’t be with the team at this time. Frankly, I’d release him. There is just no tolerance for this type of stuff and I don’t think he should be focusing on baseball right now, no matter if he is telling the truth or not.
I won’t be rooting for him. Sorry, but this is one thing that stays consistent across the board. If you get tied up in this crap, something is off. Hopefully he fixes his life.
