UFC on Fox – Orlando (Interesting card highlighted by a Featherweight slugfest)

The UFC’s last visit to Orlando was also on big Fox, on a night in which Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone finally got his first title shot and got absolutely dismantled by Rafael Dos Anjos. This Fox card will not be as exciting as that card, but it will still be headlined by a great Featherweight fight in Josh Emmett Vs. Jeremy Stephens

Max Griffin (+285) Vs. Mike Perry (-350)

Max Griffin is the perfect fight for Mike Perry to get back on track with. Mike Perry bit off a bit more than he can chew during his slugfest with Santiago Ponzinibbio and he was hoping to use that fight to take on Darren Till at a later date, but he lost, so instead he gets a chance to right this wrong in his hometown of Orlando. Max Griffin is 1-2 in the UFC, but his first fight was against Colby Covington so we won’t hold that record against him. Still, Mike Perry should take the win in this fight, I have it by 2nd round TKO. Mike Perry Def. Max Griffin

Ovince St. Preux (-123) Vs. Ilir Latifi (+103)

I’m choosing this fight simply based on the results of two fights these two took part in. First, Ryan Bader Vs. Ilir Latifi, In this fight Bader caught wind of some of Latifi’s mannerisms around takedowns and managed to catch him with a Knee to knock him out. Second, Corey Anderson Vs. Ovince St. Preux, In this fight St. Preux caught wind of some of Anderson’s stand-up mannerisms and managed to take him out with a head-kick. I feel like St. Preux’s Fight IQ will make it easier for St. Preux to get a finish and move on to a title eliminator fight. Ovince St. Preux Def. Ilir Latifi

Jessica Andrade (-285) Vs. Tecia Torres (+245)

Jessica Andrade is heavily favored in this fight as she just became the only person not named Joanna Jedrzejczyk to defeat Claudia Gadelha. I believe that Tecia has a chance to get a quick and early submission on Jessica, but I don’t believe it’s a good chance as Jessica just walks down her opponents and smothers them. Over the fight, Tecia will tire and Jessica will get a unanimous decision victory. Jessica Andrade Def. Tecia Torres

Josh Emmett (+145) Vs. Jeremy Stephens (-165)

Josh Emmett shot up the standings in December when he defeated Ricardo Lamas by KO. Now he see’s himself in the main event against the always tough and rugged Jeremy Stephens. Jeremy Stephens is also coming off of a fantastic victory in his TKO victory over Doo Ho Choi. Should these two be in the main event of a Fox card? No, but it is and we have to deal with it, it would be a killer co-main though. I think Josh Emmett is being pushed to the Main Event because the UFC simply doesn’t have a main event and they grabbed Stephens to be his opponent because they know he’d be down. Jeremy Stephens will more than likely win and then go on to ask for a title shot that he doesn’t yet deserve. Jeremy Stephens Def. Josh Emmett
