Colin Kaerpernick was recently scheduled to have a workout with the Seattle Seahawks. That has now been postponed to an undetermined date because the Quarterback told the team he will not stop the anthem protests if signed.
The Seahawks GM John Schneider immediately came out and denied the reports of the postponement of the workout, explaing that the workout wasn’t delayed due to the anthem protesting. The reason Schneider changed the workout date to an undetermined date was because they feel Kaepernick didn’t have a plan for it going foward and only had the plan for immediate future.
I think every NFL fan, myself included, beleieve that excuse by Seattle and Schneider is a full cover for Kaepernick changing his position on the kneeling situation. Kaepernick is a talented quarterback and should be on an NFL team at least as a backup quarterback. Nobody can say Chad Henne or even Blaine Gabbert is a better QB than Colin Kaepernick. I am a veteran of the United States Army and I may disagree with how Kaepernick is doing his protest, but I respect his right to do so. So many veterans and current service members sign the dotted line to protect people’s freedoms. The first freedom is the freedom of speech and Kaepernick is being held back because of it, which is sad.
I personally think he can be a starting QB over some of the other guys holding that title on NFL team’s right now. Hopefully a team gives Colin his shot at being on a 53-man roster and this feud comes to an end soon. Kaepernick continues to be black-balled by The Shield.
