I have had enough of the Brock Holt hate
For the most part everyone in Red Sox Nation loves Brock Holt. In 2015 when he was an All Star, he was the talk of the team during a otherwise bad season. He had a .280 average and had 127 hits with 27 doubles.
The year before, in 2014 he had a .281 average and had 126 hits. A little fun fact he finished 8th in the Rookie of The Year voting.
The 2016 season was a bit of a down year for him sure, but he had 185 less plate appearances.
Even then I don’t think the Brock Holt hate train fully started. If it didn’t start at some point during that season, it really got going during last season when he hit just .200.
But I feel like people forget the guy had Vertigo. What is vertigo? I’m glad you asked.
“Vertigo is a sense of rotation, rocking, or the world spinning, experienced even when someone is perfectly still.”
He battled problems with vertigo all year. Even when he came back, he was still having trouble. I dare you to go try and hit a fastball coming in at 94 feeling a sense of rotation, or rocking.
Brock Holt had two hits and three runs batted in during last nights win over the Houston Astros and has upped his batting average to .319 on the season.
If Holt is healthy, he is going to have a good season and be a valuable player off the bench.

So if there are any Holt haters still out there, either get back on the Holt train or hide underneath your rock.
