I woke up to this and right away I felt super sad and depressed. Joe Kelly won’t be returning to the Red Sox in 2019 after he signed a 3 year $25 million dollar deal with the team he and the Red Sox beat to win the World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
That’s a little more then $8 million a year, something I would of given Kelly if I was Dave Dombrowski, but I guess he didn’t want to give Kelly that much. Which is fine because besides from the start of the season and his epic postseason run, Kelly was pretty bad in-between. Which is why some people are probably not fully up in arms about the Red Sox not signing him back.
Thank you for the Joe Kelly Fight Club, thank you for starting up the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry again, and thank you for your epic postseason run, where you just dominated every batter that came to the plate. Hope you have success in LA, and see you in July when the Dodgers come visit the Red Sox.
