Cigano Vs. The Black Beast – UFC Wichita Preview

The Wichita State Shockers do…not play in the Wichita arena that will host the event on saturday, surprisingly as they are the only team that I know plays in that town. Honestly, I forgot this event was happening and I don’t know why. There are some great bouts on this card.

Welterweight: Niko Price (+160) Vs. Tim Means (-200)

Niko Price is a very impressive young exciting welterweight. His Knockout of Randy Brown about a year ago was almost my knockout of the year based on how inventive and unique it was. “The Hybrid” is getting a big push here against the grizzled veteran Tim Means. Tim is 2-3 in his last 5 fights, but two of those losses were split-decision defeats, so he could arguably be 4-1 in his last 5. In their last fights, Means defeated the obviously overmatched Ricky Rainey by first round submission, while Price was knocked out by the heavy handed Abdul Razak Alhassan. I believe that Price will rebound from his defeat and take a late stoppage or Unanimous Decision. Niko Price Def. Tim Means

Welterweight: Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (-105) Vs. Curtis Millender (-125)

This fight is gonna be one of the best on the card. both come from a heavy striking background as Zaleski comes from Capoeira and Muay Thai and Millender comes from Kickboxing. Millender is on a 9 fight winning streak with three of those wins coming from inside the UFC octagon. Zaleski is on a 6 fight winning streak with impressive stoppage victories in 3 of them. I feel as if Zaleski’s most recent performances were more impressive than Millender’s and he will likely win, however, Millender will come forward and turn this into a brawl for the ages. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos Def. Curtis Millender

Heavyweight: Derrick Lewis (+175) Vs. Junior Dos Santos (-225)

Derrick Lewis is coming off of a short-notice title opportunity against Daniel Cormier where he was defeated in round 2. Before that however, he was on the finishing end of one of the greatest comebacks in UFC history as he took out Alexander Volkov with less than 30 seconds left to get the win. (Also, that fight was on the Conor Card and he gained a million new fans as he stated “My Balls was Hot”) I thought Junior Dos Santos’ career was over after his title defeat at the hands of Stipe Miocic, but he came back and defeated two great heavyweight prospects in Blagoy Ivanov and Tai Tuivasa. In my mind, this fight is based around agility and speed, which Junior Dos Santos possesses and Derrick Lewis does not, I believe as a result. Junior Dos Santos will continue his revitalization and take out Derrick Lewis in the fourth round.
