Can’t wait to see/hear everyone overreact to this tomorrow. Chris Sale will be fine, product of light workload this spring after deep postseason run. #RedSox will be just fine too.

So opening day last night didn’t go as any of us planned it on going. Especially after the first inning when Chris Sale struck out three batters to start the game. I’m not going to get into the game cause I’ll save that for my Sunday blog recapping the week.
But I will say that no one should be freaking out about what happened last night. As Jessica Mendoza mentioned it countless times on the ESPN broadcast last night, Sale velocity was down but what burned him was location. Alex Cora even said that location was poor in his post game press conference.
Sale will be better no doubt. Today is literally the second day of the season. No reason to worry about Chris Sale right now. He’ll be fine.
Lastly I’ll leave you with this. In 2004, 2007 and 2018 the Boston Red Sox lost on opening day. Do I need to remind you what happened that year? Especially last year after the opening day the 2018 Red Sox had?
The 2004, 2007 and 2018 Red Sox all started off 0-1. Have a good night.
